Issues and Innovations in SB 2042 has significantly changed California teacher credentialing and induction to include a preliminary phase at the university level followed by a K-12 immersion for continuing professional development. This workshop will explore current efforts toward creating assessment and data collection tools to support IHE and K-12 professional developers with formative and summative assessment of teachers along the continuum of development. Issues related to the new Teacher Performance Assessments (TPA), electronic portfolios, and mechanisms for collecting digital artifacts will be addressed. Sponsored by the CUE’s TEC/ASTUTE SIG whose mission is to provide educators of pre-service and practicing teachers with resources and best practices for professional development in the use of technology. We seek teacher educators at every level of the educational system, colleges, universities, K-12, business and industry, to inspire and nourish a dynamic, cutting-edge, collegial network of professionals dedicated to excellence in technology in education. |
